Ready for Summer!

Only a few more days of school and then it’s summer break! I’m excited for a full summer of weddings, afternoons on the slip-n-slide (which we already pulled out last week!), BBQs, senior portrait sessions, house-hunting and maybe a relaxing weekend or two. :) I’d like to hike a 14er at some point before the summer’s over. If you have any tips for this newbie, feel free to send them along.

Icelandic Design | Fall/Winter Catalog Shoot | Clothing & Accessories

Several months ago I had the great pleasure of working with the talented women at Icelandic Design for their upcoming Fall/Winter clothing and accessories catalogs. Below are a few images from the catalogs + shots from our three-day shoot.

My little James made his debut as a hat model on the last day of shooting. This particular shoot was early in December, so “what I want for Christmas” was a topic frequently on his mind and in our converstations. I enjoyed teasing him on a daily basis, telling him I was going to get him this photo (sitting with the ladies) blown-up poster size to hang in his room. Haha. :)

Mari | Senior Portraits + A Horse Named Cooper

When deciding on a location for a senior portrait session Jim and I first like to find out if there is a place of significance to our client. Though I have a handful of locations I shoot at in and around Longmont, it’s exciting to switch it up and shoot somewhere new–especially when the location means something to the person being photographed in it. Mari’s was one of those sessions. I shot Mari’s senior portraits at Blue Cloud Farm in between Boulder and Longmont–where she visits regularly to ride and take care of her horse Cooper.

Annie & Dean + Family | Vow Renewal

Annie & Dean renewed their wedding vows on a cold & snowy morning at the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Boulder. For two hours prior to the ceremony Jim and I captured portraits and candid family moments. Here’s a little peek at what we got:

Annie & Dean–THANK YOU for braving the snow & chilly temps for some outdoor portraits. Though our fingers froze and our bodies went numb I think it was TOTALLY worth it! :)

…and it wasn’t long before we headed into the Parish Center to warm up…

Julia & Gared | Fort Collins Engagement Session

When I met Julia & Gared for their engagement session I found them full of laughter and love which made my job of photographing them purely delightful. :) As is probably obvious from the lush backgrounds and bright green grass–these engagement session photos were taken a few months ago!

iPhone Photography | Labelbox

I love using my iPhone camera on a daily basis to capture shots of everyday life happening around me. Recently I discovered an iPhone app called Labelbox. It’s a free app (!) that allows you to add labels of text to your iPhone photos. I’m not a huge fan of most of the cutesy looking tags and fonts, but I love the black and red ones that resemble the old labelmaker tags from my childhood.
