Though it seems during the summer I primarily photograph senior portraits and weddings, I’m always oh-so-thrilled to to photograph families, newborns, and two-year olds–all three of which I had the pleasure of doing during this session last week:

…pretty sure I was the only one with my back to the circus taking photos of my kids’ expressions. Colin’s enthusiasm was just too priceless to ignore.

Last Saturday Jim and I met Jason and Julia in Aspen, where they were staying for the weekend to finalize plans for their wedding this fall. We spent the afternoon and early evening shooting their engagement session in the streets of Aspen, and had a great time getting to know them in the process. Some of my favorites:

Earlier this month Jim and I shot Kristin and Caleb’s engagement photos near downtown Denver. I randomly picked a meeting point looking at a mapquest map of Denver and was quite happy with the spots we found as we wandered around. :) Just a few of my favorites:

A couple months ago I was contacted by Grand Circle Travel in Boston, who was putting together a magazine article on the travel-inspired wood-carvings of Harry (a talented artist living in northern Colorado). It was an amazing opportunity for me, not just to visit Harry’s wood-working studio and photograph him at work, but also to get to know Harry (quite possibly the friendliest person I have ever met) and see his passion for his work.
A detail from the piece that was being featured in the magazine, which kind-of reminded me of the ivory carvings that I used to drool over in my art history classes (especially the one of Justinian riding his horse in triumph–just in case anyone else wants to be an art history nerd with me…)
