Icelandic Design | Fall/Winter Catalog Shoot | Clothing & Accessories

Several months ago I had the great pleasure of working with the talented women at Icelandic Design for their upcoming Fall/Winter clothing and accessories catalogs.  Below are a few images from the catalogs + shots from our three-day shoot.

My little James made his debut as a hat model on the last day of shooting.  This particular shoot was early in December, so “what I want for Christmas” was a topic frequently on his mind and in our converstations. I enjoyed teasing him on a daily basis, telling him I was going to get him this photo (sitting with the ladies) blown-up poster size to hang in his room.  Haha.  :)

Thank you, Jim, for making the “snow” happen in this set:

Swell Cupcakes | Yum!

Remember Gina? …Of course you do! She was the bride of the amazing Lyons Farm Wedding (think: tandem bike ride post-ceremony, chickens, family style BBQ, a live bluegrass band, perfectly-designed invitations, etc. etc. etc.). Last month Gina and her sister Stephanie launched a cupcakery called Swell Cupcakes–the most delicious cupcakes I’ve had in Colorado (I’ve had lots!).

At the beginning of December Swell Cupcakes introduced three new winter flavors–gingerbread, winter wonderland, and peppermint hot chocolate–all of which I had the pleasure of photographing (and then devouring in an embarassingly short amount of time).  Here are a few shots of their winter flavors. So beautiful aren’t they? I love cupcakes.

**deliciousness alert** there is GANACHE inside the peppermint hot chocolate cupcake. (!)

Winter Shoot + Convertible Mittens = Happy Photographer

You see? Imagine yourself in the middle of a cold, snowy photo shoot.  So cold–as in–you can see each and every breath you take (see photo below!). When you need your fingers accessible to turn little knobs and dials on your camera, these are a wonderful pair of fingerless gloves.  When you’re in between shots and you’d like your fingers warm and toasty just pull the flap back over and wear them like mittens.  Perfect for any photographer shooting a winter wedding or any other outdoor assignment in the middle of December.  PERFECT! :)

Over the past four weeks Jim and I have been working with a few of the lovely ladies at Icelandic Design shooting images for their upcoming catalog.  Most of the shoots were outdoor. We got lucky several times with some surprisingly spring-like November weather, but last week’s shoot was pretty chilly, as you might guess from these photos:

I proudly wore my pair of red convertible mittens during the outdoor portion of this shoot and they were the best.  Warm hands while also being able to control the dials on my camera.  Brilliant.
