I spent most of last week in Las Vegas for the WPPI Convention and Trade Show at the MGM. It was the first time I was able to attend, and I came back with a notebook full of new ideas and goals for Angie Wilson Photography. Some of the highlights?? Building new friendships with amazing photographers from across the country, lunch with Jesh de Rox, browsing through acres and acres of photography products/software/services at the trade show, running into and chatting with a few of the photographers whose work I’ve admired for a LONG time (Bobbie + Mike, Amelia and Justin Lyon, who are all just as friendly and kind as their work is amazing), putting on a wedding dress and posing as a bride for David Beckstead’s workshop, and getting pumped making plans to ressurect my film camera while attending Jonathan Canlas’ platform class. (!)
I didn’t take too many photos while I was away, but I did spend ten minutes the morning of my last day walking around with my camera:
I love Jonathan Canlas’ work! That’s cool that you got to see him present. I’ve been wanting to take his film is not dead workshop but for now it’s just too expensive.
I’d love to take that workshop too Melinda. He is a VERY cool, down-to-earth guy.
I’m a little jealous Angie. I have a goal to see all the cool stuff at WPPI some day.
I was talking to my friend at church one day and he said his brother was a wedding photographer in Utah. In my mind I’m thinking “yeah him and a million other people, big deal.” Turns out his brother is Jonathan Canlas and it is a big deal. I felt dumb.
