Wedding at The Apiary | Stacey & Matt – Angie Wilson Photography

I’m always excited for the weddings I shoot, but I was a bit extra excited for Stacey and Matt’s at the Apiary in Lexington, Kentucky. Stacey, you see, was my undergrad years BFF. We met in the dorms freshman year and spent the next few years staying up late, blasting Brittney Spears/Nelly/Ja Rule (hahaha), cooking terrible college-budget food, backpacking Europe, studying, concert-going, hockey-game attending, etc. etc. etc. When I took my very first photography class (my only photography class, actually) Stacey was my go-to model when I had to take portraits. So many memories . . .

Last Fall I flew out to Kentucky to meet Matt and take his and Stacey’s engagement photos, and at the beginning of June it was wedding time! It was delightful to be part of their day and to see one of my favorite people in the world as a radiant bride, marrying an A+ guy. Added bonuses–1. The Apiary in Lexington is amazing 2. My big sister who lives in London (and don’t get to see too often) flew in to be one of Stacey’s bridesmaids, and 3. An out-of-state wedding meant Jim and I had a kid-free weekend. :)
