Rare Moment Photographing Nature

Yesterday afternoon I was sitting on the driveway watching James and Colin ride their bikes up and down the street.  It had just rained (again….what is UP?!?!?), and I noticed how beautifully the drops of water were gathering on the blades of grass. When it comes to photography, I generally feel most drawn to people, but every once in awhile nature grabs my interest. Yesterday was one of those days. I pulled out my cheapie macro lens (50mm 2.8 sigma) and snapped a few shots:

Ummm…..yeah…..this is a weed and……yes…..it is growing in our front yard. Pretty in photos, not so pretty when you come walking up to our front door. :)

Starting next week I hope to catch up on all (or at least a few) of the senior portrait sessions I’ve been shooting. Stay tuned….

Fun pictures! I want a macro lens for my Mamiya 645. Then I could take some cool insect pictures. I’m all about the nature.

  2. Love those! A macro is on my lens wish list. I love it when you’re doing something totally unrelated and then you notice all these little “snapshot” details around you. LOVE LOVE LOVE!
